Overview

Designing Above the Fold

In this video, I guide you through the process of designing a VR landing page.

We start by transforming assets into symbols, integrating logos, adjusting layouts, and customizing buttons to ensure the final design is clean, responsive, and user-friendly. In the video, I demonstrate how to build an engaging VR landing page step-by-step. We begin with the integration of various logos and symbols and then move on to adjusting colors and layouts. I show how to replace elements, reset overrides, and use auto-layout features. Additionally, I explain the importance of button sizing for mobile devices and the significance of using interactive elements to guide user attention. Finally, I emphasize the principles of design, such as balancing elements and using invisible frames for centering.

Summary

  1. Starting with Symbols: I transformed various assets into symbols, including multiple types of logos, to streamline the design process.
  2. Integrating Logos: We integrated and replaced logos, ensuring they adapted well to the design while maintaining consistency.
  3. Layout and Color Adjustments: I demonstrated how to adjust the colors and layouts, focusing on making elements like headers and titles stand out with contrasting colors.
  4. Replacing Elements: Learn how to replace existing elements efficiently, resetting overrides to maintain the integrity of the design.
  5. Button Customization: I detailed the process of customizing buttons, including setting appropriate sizes for mobile devices to ensure usability.
  6. Interactive Elements: We added interactive elements, such as animated VR hands, to enhance user engagement and guide them to key actions.
  7. Design Principles: I emphasized design principles like the Gustav principles, ensuring the hero section explains the content and directs focus to the call-to-action button.
  8. Spacing and Grouping: Techniques for grouping elements and adjusting vertical spacing were covered to maintain a balanced and organized layout.
  9. Adding Visual Cues: I showed how to add visual cues that encourage users to scroll, using design elements like icons and borders.
  10. Final Touches: The video concluded with adding a navigation menu and refining the overall layout to ensure a polished and user-friendly design.

Highlights
